Just three days ago, we issued a CAN on the Mimail.C Worm. Over the weekend, two new variants of this worm (Mimail.D and Mimail.E) have been spreading quickly across the Internet via e-mail. The actions of these worms have the potential to overload your Internet bandwidth, effectively causing you to be unable to connect to the Internet for valid purposes. Protect yourself by updating your anti-virus software and reading the Computer Advisory Notification (CAN) located here.
The newest worm on the Internet contains a .ZIP file that can turn your computer into a mass e-mailing machine if you become infected. But worse than that, it also attempts to retrieve information from your computer and send it to hackers over the Internet. Protect yourself by updating your anti-virus software and reading the Computer Advisory Notification (CAN) located here.

Lately we've seen an increase in fake "credentials check" e-mails that ask the recipient to verify their login information. The latest such e-mail we've seen appears to come from Citibank, and urges Citibank customers to click on a hyperlink for the bank's web site, where they will be asked to enter their account number and password for verification purposes. In reality, users who click on the link are sent to a fake web site that only appears to belong to Citibank - the information entered on this site was stored by a hacker and used for illegal purposes. While this site has now been taken offline, there are many such scams floating around the Internet - don't fall for one!
Remember, no legit organization should ever contact you to ask for your account number, PIN number, or password.
