WV's First CD-ROM Annual Report Released (6/5/1998)
LOI & MotionMasters Co-create Multimedia Presentation for City Holding Company
CHARLESTON, WV -- City Holding Company (Nasdaq: CHCO) has become the first bank in West Virginia to release its annual financial report on CD-ROM. The project was completed by the Charleston-based firms of MotionMasters and Logical Operators, Inc (LOI).
The CD is designed as a complement to the organizations printed report and accompanying video and as such follows a similar graphic design. More than a dozen software programs were used to program the CD which is designed to run on either Windows or Macintosh operating systems.
The CD is divided into six sections that cover topics such as City Holding Companys history, its diversified product base and the companys expansion plans. Clips from the companys annual video report are interspersed throughout the CD. It also has an option for a direct link to the firms web site on the Internet.
"An increasing number of our clients are interested in using CD-ROM technology," said Brian Peterson, executive producer at MotionMasters. "As a marketing or educational tool, CD-ROM technology offers tremendous advantages. This project for City, for example, incorporates animated graphics, video, audio and extensive financial data. The user can choose to select all of the sections, or just one of them, if thats all hes interested in learning about."
MotionMasters and Logical Operators formed a strategic alliance more than two years ago for the development of interactive technology. "Multimedia requires an extensive background in video production, graphics and computer programming," said Warren Hairston, president of Logical Operators. "Individually, our two firms have excellent track records. Collectively, we can offer our clients a depth of knowledge unmatched by our competitors."
The two firms are located in a new facility, "One Creative Place" at the NorthGate Business Park.
